CVTI is a force multiplier!

If you’re someone engaged in the work of supporting service members, veterans, and their families as they transition from the military to higher education and workforce settings, we’re excited to collaborate with you.

Our small, versatile team works closely with veteran serving professionals who aspire to strengthen cultures of support for military-connected people where they live, work, and go to school. We can help you integrate our programs, tools, and resources into your own institutional offerings, or we can collaborate with you to build new, custom solutions to address unique needs.

We generally operate in four areas of practice:

Force Multiplication
  • Capacity building, professional development, mentorship 
  • Initiating and advising communities of practice for veteran-serving professionals (VSPs)
  • Consultation on cultural transformation for institutions, organizations, and municipalities
  • Library of tools and resources for veteran-serving professionals and organizations

Community Action Research
  • Collaborate with local, regional, and Columbia-affiliated military-connected people to generate insights and data on the evolving military-connected community 
  • Employ research methodologies such as: focus groups, listening sessions, participant observation, interviews, surveys, literature and narrative analysis, and more to frame larger research questions for further exploration 
  • Coordinate research in collaboration with other institutions, agencies, organizations, and municipalities

Collaborative Thought & Convening
  • Lead an open and ongoing conversations on the definitions of “transition” and “integration” and their implications for service members, veterans and their families, and for the larger population - military-connected or not 
  • Convene and host gatherings on topics inside the scope of CVTI’s mission, and practice areas 
  • Share findings and drive continued engagement around relevant topics among veteran-serving organizations/professionals, institutions of higher learning, municipalities, and prospective employers of veterans and military connected people

Content Creation and Distribution
  • Create content and resources that share findings from CVTI programs and initiatives and POVs on relevant and timely topics 
  • Publish content and findings from all practice areas on CVTI’s media and distribution channels 
  • Engage partners to create and distribute content relevant to CVTI’s various audiences and communities.
