Our Key Initiatives are Built on Two Core Pillars
Fostering Collaboration & Innovation – We develop dynamic programs that highlight the vital contributions of veterans to the intellectual life of the university, strengthening connections between military experience and academic excellence.
Providing Essential Tools & Programming – We create and deliver accessible resources, including four online curricula. Three support veterans at critical transition points, while one helps colleges and universities build a veteran-supportive campus culture.
728 colleges, universities, veteran service organizations, employers, and corporate partners served.
Over 150k active-duty service members, military families, and military-facing higher education professionals served.
CVTI has developed a national reputation for capacity development through collaborative workshops (80 to date).
CVTI tools, resources, and programming have saved our partners over $473k.
Collaborating for Academic Success
In 2020, the Alamo College District worked with CVTI to incorporate our University Studies for Student Veterans academic support curriculum into their student services interface.
The district introduced these resources to approximately 4,000 veterans and military-connected students, with a dedicated focus on 400 academically at-risk students.
79% reported increased GPAs (in some cases as much as 3.0 points)
68% stated it was very or extremely helpful in reaching class goals
95% reported they would recommend the training to a classmate
81% reported the content influenced positive learning strategies
The Director of Student Accessibility Services at San Antonio College describes these outcomes as “remarkable.” CVTI is currently working with Alamo to plan a next phase of this collaboration.
