Navigating Campus Culture Intro
Navigating Campus Culture Intro
Transcript
Colleges and universities, just like other large complex organizations, have a culture. That culture consists of what things are called, what places are named, where resources are located, and how they're organized, and how people move through space.
But if you haven't been socialized to a college or a university culture, or if it's been a little while since you've been to one of these places, it may not be immediately obvious how best to navigate that culture. After all, it's not obvious whether a Registrar is a person or a place. It's not obvious when you get your student ID, what that student ID entitles you to, not just on campus, but off campus. And if you need a particular kind of help, it's not immediately obvious where the best place is to get it.
That's what we're going to talk about today, how best to navigate campus culture, so that you get what you need.
